The 80s Classic Horror Series LA HORA MARCADA Will be Available Free on ViX beginning October 28
MIAMI, FL. – October 28, 2022 – Just in time for Halloween, the 80s classic horror series LA HORA MARCADA will be available on ViX completely free beginning October 28. The hit 1980s anthology series, which mixed horror, science fiction and controversial issues of the time, will be available for the first time on streaming to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
ViX will have the original episodes in advance of next year’s exclusive ViX+ premiere of the new version of LA HORA MARCADA, which will offer a new vision of the iconic show that create a visually unique universe for every episode.
LA HORA MARCADA launched in 1988 with a weekly episode every Tuesday at 10 p.m. in Mexico. The series told short, original stories that included haunted amusement parks, ogres, ghosts and urban legends. “The Woman in Black,” representing death, appeared in every episode, a TV presence that surely terrified audiences at the time. The anthology was produced by Carmen Armendáriz, who surrounded herself with creative talent and helped launch the careers of famed directors Guillermo del Toro, Alfonso Cuarón and Emmanuel Lubezki as well as the careers of famed actors, including Arcelia Ramírez, Carmen Salinas, Daniel Giménez Cacho, Eduardo Palomo, Enrique Rocha, Erika Buenfil, Evita Muñoz “Chachita,” Humberto Zurita, Margarita Isabel, María Rojo, Ofelia Guilmáin, Patricia Reyes Espíndola, Salvador Sánchez and many more.
Fast facts about LHM:
- “De Ogros” (As Ogres) is the only episode on which del Toro, Cuarón and Lubezki worked together, and it’s considered a cult episode.
- Other big names in entertainment also took part in the project: Mitli Valdez and the Agraz brothers, Luis Estrada, Luis Vélez, Rodrigo Prieto, Carlos Marcovich and Alfredo Gurrola.
- Anahí played a doll in one episode alongside leading lady Marga López.
- “The Woman in Black” was played by three actresses: Frances Ondiviela, Margot Buzali and Tere Hernández
- Miguel Galarza and Pedro Gilabert were in charge of the intro and music.
