LUCHA DE ANTOJOS, the New Culinary Competition Reality Show, Premieres September 19 on ViX

MIAMI, SEPTEMBER 11 – ViX, the world’s leading Spanish-language streaming service, announced today that all eight episodes of LUCHA  DE  ANTOJOS, its new culinary competition reality show, will premiere exclusively on ViX’s premium plan on September  19. In addition, the first episode will be available on ViX Gratis on premiere day. 

ViX’s original series is hosted by actor, entrepreneur and food influencer Andrés  de  Oliveira “Andrés Cooking” and features renowned Mexican chefs Anna Ruiz, Alexis AyalaAlexander SuasteguiChris DommitDiego NiñoEmmanuel PrietoJosefina López and Mariano Torre Hutt.  

LUCHA DE ANTOJOS features eight top chefs who will trade their luxurious kitchens for street carts to prepare their best version of a popular cuisine’s iconic dishes such as Tacos Al Pastor, Tortas Extremas, Chilaquiles, Tamales and Sopes.They will attempt to conquer the streets and demonstrate their prowess in front of the crowd to determine who can masterfully satisfy street cravings. The challenge will increase when they are judged by sommeliers of the grenache: the people who eat at street stalls every day. 

The competition is not only for the honor of being recognized as the best craving creator, but also for the opportunity to challenge the Patrones: the legendary titans of street food. These masters of the streets represent the pinnacle of street food, and only the one that can impress them with his creativity and skill will have the chance to take them on. 

In each LUCHA DE ANTOJOS challenge, the chefs will buy their ingredients in the traditional “Mercado de San Juan” and will have as their kitchen, some of the most colorful places in Mexico City such as Plaza Santo Domingo, Santa María la Ribera, Barrio de la Romita and Plaza San Jacinto. Here you will discover who is the best chef among the eight and what people really prefer: the tradition and flavors of the street chefs or the technique and gastronomic knowledge of the participants.  

The series produced by VICE  Studios  LatAm offers not only a culinary competition, but also celebrates Mexico’s rich street food culture and the chefs who keep it alive.
