Univision Noticias’ Documentary #IAmVanessaGuillen Announces Its International Premier on YouTube
WHAT: Univision Noticias, the award-winning news division of TelevisaUnivision and the most trusted source of news for U.S. Hispanics, brings its documentary #IamVanessaGuillen: One survivor launches a movement to end military sexual trauma to international audiences on Veteran’s Day. The documentary will be available on Univision Noticias’ YouTube platform this Veteran’s Day.
Univision Noticias’ documentary follows the 2020 murder of Army soldier Vanessa Guillen at Fort Hood’s military base and what it meant for Karina Lopez. Two years after surviving the sexual assault on the same base, Lopez created a Facebook post with the hashtag #IamVanessaGuillen. It quickly went viral, prompting others to speak up and make military sexual trauma more visible throughout the country. The documentary originally premiered on July 14th to United States viewers.
